The Word of Elohim tells us in Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians in the first epistle chapter 5:23 that we were all created in the image of the creator with three parts, as a spirit with a soul in a body.
The verse says: “And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The human spirit is the deepest part of our person. It is by this innermost part of our being we can connect with Elohim who is Spirit. Our soul is our personality, who we are. With our soul we think, reason, consider, remember, and wonder. We experience emotions like happiness, love, sorrow, anger, relief, and compassion as 10 signs of good health.
Through this means we’re able to think, reason, resolve, choose, laugh, cry, and make decisions. The word for soul is Greek word psuche, which is also the root word of psychology.

The Word of Elohim say: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers” (3John: 2). Healthy mind/soul is determined by the things we think, focus and concentrate on most of the time.

The mind/soul part of our existence consist of the emotion, the will and intellect. Proverbs 2:10 says, “for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul”.
For example, we need to regulate without suppressing our emotions. All emotions are ok, they just need to be managed – not squashed.

Regular Fellowship with other Believers – Believers need the support of each other as iron sharpens iron. Paul wrote in Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
He told the Hebrews in 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
